You're Not Broken—You've Been Unsupported

For years, many people have walked through life believing something was wrong with them.

They've been told they are too emotional.
Too sensitive.
Too ambitious.
Too much.
Not enough.

After hearing those messages long enough, they begin to internalize them.

But what if the problem was never that you were broken?

What if you simply lacked the support, tools, guidance, boundaries, and environment necessary to thrive?

That realization changed my life.

As a psychology professor, Christian counselor, educator, coach, wife, mother, and woman who has overcome significant obstacles, I've learned that most people are not failing because they are incapable.

They're struggling because they've been unsupported.

What Does Being Unsupported Look Like?

Being unsupported can look like:

  • Growing up without emotional validation

  • Being surrounded by criticism instead of encouragement

  • Living in toxic relationships

  • Constantly putting everyone else first

  • Having no healthy examples of boundaries

  • Carrying trauma while pretending everything is fine

  • Feeling responsible for everyone's happiness

Over time, these experiences can impact confidence, self-worth, relationships, and overall wellness.

The Truth About Healing

Healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about returning to who you were before life convinced you otherwise.

When you begin healing, you start:

  • Setting healthy boundaries

  • Changing negative thought patterns

  • Prioritizing your emotional wellness

  • Rebuilding confidence

  • Trusting yourself again

  • Creating a life aligned with your values
