You’re Not Broken— You’ve Been Unsupported

There is a narrative many people carry quietly: “Something must be wrong with me.”

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, you may have believed that story too.

But what if the issue isn’t that you’re broken—
what if you’ve simply been unsupported?

Through my doctoral research, The Hidden Curriculum of Mental Health, I uncovered something powerful:
Many individuals are navigating complex emotional, relational, and mental health challenges in environments that technically offer support—but don’t feel supportive.

Support exists.
But it isn’t always experienced.

And when support is inconsistent, unclear, or inaccessible, people begin to internalize the struggle.

They blame themselves.
They question their worth.
They stay stuck longer than they need to.

What this reveals is…

The gap between available resources and lived experience is real—and it matters.

This is critical because…

When people feel unsupported, they don’t just struggle—they begin to believe the struggle is who they are.

From a practical standpoint…

Healing starts when we shift the narrative.

You are not broken.
You’ve been navigating without the structure, tools, and support you deserve.

And the moment you recognize that— everything begins to change.
